Inception: Review
What's up people? I'm Vansh Gaint and today I'm going to review Christopher Nolan's Inception which was released in 2010. Now, I know it's a bit late to review this movie because it's almost 9 years since it hit the theaters but I think that this one deserves it. Alright! Let's get started.
So, I watched this movie yesterday i.e. 9th July' 2019 on my desktop. I had this movie with me since long only I did not want to watch it because some of my acquaintances said that this movie is a headache. Only did they forgot to mention that it was a good headache. So, I watched this because I had no idea what to watch and then I took an internet quiz about which movie I should watch and believe me or not but I tested myself two times and twice it showed that I should I watch Inception and so I did. And thank God I did.
To start with the plot, I think it is too original. It's so genuine that I bet you won't be bored throughout the movie. I mean, there might/might not be a minute or a couple of boring scenes or anything like that but this plot is too unique for Nolan himself. No offense! So, as the title suggests, the plot is about Inception which is the starting of any activity or an idea etc. and Leonardo DiCaprio is the protagonist here. He plays Cobb who is a guy who knows how to enter into people's dreams and somehow manipulate them to get some information out of them which they won't usually give out which is mostly some information stored away in the sub-conscious of the person whose dreams he enter and if this is not cool for you then I don't know what is.
Not much later than the movie starts we find out that Cobb has a wife-Mal and he is involved in her death. Now, he might/might not be involved but here it is- his chance at redemption. He gets an offer by Saito to enter a person's dream and to intercept an IDEA in him and in exchange he gets to go home(since he's extradited) and meet his children and THE REDEMPTION. This is the turning point in the film. After this, the movie turns out to be so entertaining, intimidating and keeps you engaged throughout its runtime.
Cobb manages to put together a team to carry out his plan and then the way they carry out their plan is pure beauty. Although, they did not prepare for all the threats to come and they have to take some risks to execute their plan and the relationship among the team members is really good. Rest of the story might contain spoilers as I narrate it to you but this much is enough, I guess, to make you understand the beauty of this film.
Now, the cast of the movie is real good and I couldn't help but notice that Nolan uses these people in most of his movies. Tom Hardy was in Dark Knight Rises(2012) and Dunkirk(2017) and same goes with Joseph Gordon-Levitt who starred in Dark Knight Rises(2012) as well and there are other members of the cast too but it's not a problem. The cast is magnificent as far as I'm concerned.

This movie had a star cast and trust me, these people are not overrated at all. Have a look at Tom Hardy as Bane.
Moving on, this movie has a lot of interesting concepts to it for example- a totem, sub-security, the inception itself and the concept that I found the most interesting was Limbo and I think that you better watch the movie to find out what it means. These things keep you going. Since the events of the movie take place over a short period of time I don't think that there is much of a scope for character development except one character- Ariadne. As she learns whatever is up with Cobb, she changes her behavior and she understands the importance of his situation to the well being of the mission significantly. Her development was really important and it was done. Character development is really important in movies and it was taken care of in Inception.
Now for the action and other parts of the movie, I think it was really good and it was mostly Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who stole the show in these scenes and these scenes are awesome especially the Joseph Gordon's part because those scenes are shot amazingly and are worth-a-watch. The CGI was handled respectably and the movie was really great. Before I go on any further, I think that the performances of Marion Cotillard are worth an applause because she had a unique character with an unique storyline and she did justice to the complex and complicated character that she plays-Mal. Also, I think that Leo and Marion look good together. Their relationship is really unique and it is also one of the best parts of the movie.
Hell! This movie is amazing!
At the start of the movie, the ending of the movie is teased and the ending is amazing like all other Nolan movies have and it was really good and emotional. It was deep! The last conversation Cobb has with Saito is really good and it felt really great to watch that scene. It was really really good!
I like this movie for its unique plot, its star cast, the unique concepts in the movie and the way this movie explains to us about the world of dreams and subconscious. These things are explained in the movie real well, only you need to watch this movie attentively. There are absolutely no unnecessary scenes in the movie. The kind of knowledge this movie gives you, I don't if its true or not, is worth listening and it's really great and convincing and all. The differentiation between reality and dreams in this movie is what makes it confusing but it's excellent. This movie's background score was also really good and I like this movie for what it is. No changes suggested! Really good!
That ending, though. That ending!
So, that's it for today! Before I leave let me tell you that if you haven't watched this movie yet, you need to go and watch it right now! It's awesome and it's so very close to my heart! I can't say no more except for maybe give this a rating out of 10. Also, let me know what is your favorite concept, scene and character in the movie.
My rating: 9.5/10
